1 lb. chopped pecans
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon sugar
1 lb. filo dough
1 lb. sweet butter, unsalted

3 cups sugar
2 1/4 cup water
lemon juice
1 T. honey

Directions:
Directions:
1. Make syrup by boiling 3 cups sugar, 2 ¼ cup water, lemon juice, and 1 T. honey. It will thicken. Boil for 7 minutes. Allow to completely cool.

2. Mix first three ingredients and melt butter.

3. Take pastry brush and grease pan with butter. Put 8 sheets of filo, cemented with butter (thin coats). Then put a layer of filling,then two layers of filos, always buttering them. Top with nuts. Then finish 5-8 filo layers.

4. Cut lengthwise, 1 inch, then go at a diagonal. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes (watch!).
