Layer ingredients in a 9 x 13 inch glass pan.
1st 1 head of lettuce chopped
2nd 1 cup diced celery
3rd 4 boiled eggs sliced
4th 1 10 oz package frozen petite peas
5th 1/2 cup green pepper diced
6th 1 can sliced water chestnuts
7th I medium onion thinly sliced
8th 8 slices of bacon baked and crumbled
9th 2 cups mayonnaise mixed with 2 tablespoons of sugar
10th 4 oz. Grated cheese.

Cover and refrigerate for 8-12 hours.
