2 lbs. hamburger - cooked, grease drained
2 stalks celery, with leaves diced
1 medium onion, diced
5 cans bean sprouts drained
¼ cup LaChoy Soy Sauce
1 pkg. LaChoy Chow Mein noodles

1 T. cornstarch
1 t. sugar
½ c. water

1 can water chestnuts drained
1 can bamboo shoots drained

For Crockpot:

Add browned hamburger, onion, celery, bean sprouts and soy sauce to crockpot. Cook on low for 6 hours or until celery and onion are cooked through.

Mix together cornstarch, sugar and water and add to crockpot half or ¾ of the way done, this will thicken the broth up a little.

To serve:
Place desired amount of LaChoy Chow Mein noodles on plate, top with chow mein and then add more soy sauce to taste. Enjoy!

This was a staple meal growing up. Mom found the recipe on the back of a can of bean sprouts and made it her own. All of us kids enjoyed it. She cooked it in a pan over the stove. I use a crockpot for easy cooking.

Attached photo is Mom's own handwritten version. You can tell by the condition that she made it alot.
