"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt.
Make 3 wells in the dry ingredients using the bottom of a measuring cup. Pour the vanilla, vinegar, and vegetable oil in their own well. Before mixing, pour the cold water over everything, then mix with a spatula until the batter is combined
Pour the batter into an UN-GREASED 9 x13 inch pan and bake for 25-28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.

Personal Notes:
Sometimes I see this recipe as Wacky Cake. This is an easy white cake with no milk, eggs or butter. Great when you are low on supplies, and easy to mix up without a mixer. Similar to Dianne’s Vinegar Chocolate Cake
