1 cup margarine or butter
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 oz (8 squares) semi-sweet chocolate
1 cup pecans, chopped

Directions:
Coarsely chop the chocolate or use 8 oz chocolate morsels.
Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease a 13x9 inch pan with margarine or butter.
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the margarine or butter; remove it from the heat to cool enough so that the eggs don't cook yet still warm so that the sugar will blend easily; add the sugar, vanilla and eggs; blend well.
Lightly spoon the flour into a measuring cup; level off the cup using an upside down knife.
In a mixing bowl, stir in the flour, cocoa powder and salt; mix well. Add the chocolate, pecans, and the saucepan ingredients; blend until just fully blended, then stop.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until set.
Cool on a rack.
Cut into 36 squares.
