1.5 pounds Brussels sprouts, washed, trimmed, and cut in half
3 Tbs. olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
2 tsp. lemon zest
1 Tbs. fresh lemon juice
3 Tbs. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 Tbs. chopped pecans or hazelnuts, optional
2-3 Tbs. pine nuts

1. In a large skillet heat the olive oil over medium high heat.
2. Add the Brussels sprouts and sauté for about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sprouts are mostly dark golden brown and tender.
3. Once caramelized, add the garlic and pine nuts and cook for 1 more minute.
4. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice. Place the Brussels sprouts on a platter or in a serving bowl and garnish with Parmesan cheese and chopped nuts. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Serve immediately.
