Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 box Yellow cake mix
1 stick melted butter
4 eggs
1½ c. light corn syrup
½ c. dark brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 13x9 jelly roll pan.
2. For the crust, mix in a bowl the cake mix, butter and 1 egg. Measure 2/3 cup of this mixture and reserve for the pecan mixture. Pat the remaining mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes. Mixture can be somewhat sticky, so be sure to have flour available for your hands! The crust will seem thin, but it rises a bit when it is cooking—like a cake!
3. Meanwhile, stir together the reserved crust mixture, the remaining 3 eggs, the corn syrup and the vanilla. Stir in the pecans. Pour this mixture over partially baked crust. Increase the oven heat to 375 degrees, and bake for 25 minutes on the middle rack of your oven, or until set. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
If the nuts seem to be getting too brown after 20 minutes, cover with aluminum foil for rest of bake time.
