2 sticks butter
1 1/4 cps sugar
2 eggs
1 cup thick cultured sour cream
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 finely chopped walnuts
1 tsp. cinnamon, 3 tbs. sugar, combined

1. Combine butter, sugar, and eggs in a large bowl. Beat with electric mixer until mixture is light and fluffy. Blend in sour cream.

2. Sift flour, baking soda, and baking powder into cream mixture. Add vanilla and blend well.

3. Spoon one-half batter into 9" tube pan, which has been greased and floured. Sprinkle half the cinnamon mixture and walnuts over batter. Spoon remaining batter on top and top with remaining cinnamon mixture and walnuts.

4. Place in cold oven. Set oven to 350 degrees and bake 45 to 55 minutes.

This is one of the coffee cake recipes that my grandma, Virginia Rose Schoen, used to make. Since she passed last year, I've made it several times, and it's always turned out delicious. I hope you and Nathan enjoy this recipe too!
