Ingredients:  
1 lb instant potatoes or 9 c mashed potatoes
3 c powdered milk
3 tsp sugar
5 tsp salt
9 c water
3 sticks butter

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water and butter to a boil.

Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Pour hot butter and water into the dry ingredients and mix well.

Cover with a damp towel. Chill; then add 4 1/2 c flour, mix well.

Measure out 1/4-1/3 cup of dough and roll very thin in a circle.

Bake on a lefse grill at 400º, until lightly brown on each side.

I was introduced to Lefse when I joined the Smith Family. Served warm, with butter, cinnamon and sugar, melts in your mouth. Nothing bought, compares to Grandma's recipe. Many happy memories making lefse with family.
