Ingredients:
5 large yams, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, cubed

Directions:
Directions:
Place the sliced yams in a pot and cover with water, lightly sprinkle with salt. Bring to a low boil and cook until they can be pierced with a fork. Careful not to over-cook, they should not be fully cooked, just enough to soften. Approximately 10 minutes. Heat the oven to 350º. Drain the water off the yams and pour into a baking dish. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the yams evenly. Top with the cubes of butter over the top. Place in the oven to bake 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and gently toss the candied yams to evenly cover in the mixture.
Double for a large crowd. Yams are orange inside, sweet potatoes are yellow. Be sure to buy Yams.
