2 sticks butter
3/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
1-1/4 cups flour
pinch of salt
1 Tbs grated lemon peel
1 tsp baking powder, (optional)


Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together, add eggs, one at a time, blend well, add lemon zest, blend well. Sift together flour and baking powder and add to creamed mixture.

When done, place teaspoonfuls on pizzelle maker and bake as per instructions on pizzell maker.

I got this recipe in 1984 at the Christmas Markt in Baden-Baden. We liked them so much I asked for the recipe and they were kind enough to give it to me. We have enjoyed them since then.
