1 (10 oz. ) box of baby pearl onions, or a handful of small onions from your garden
1 ˝ Pounds of fresh, green beans, trimmed and left whole
1 Large red sweet pepper, thinly sliced in strips
2 T Butter or cooking oil
Hot pepper oil or sesame oil to taste, if desired
Salt and pepper to taste

Steam the green beans until crisp-tender. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, sauté the onions and red pepper in the butter, adding a few drops of the hot oil or the sesame oil, if you wish, until the pepper slices are tender, and the onions are lightly browned.

Add the beans to the skillet, and toss to mix.
Season to taste with salt and pepper.
