1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 heaping cup lard or crisco
1 cup buttermilk or sour milk (To sour milk add 1 TBS. vinegar and mix well)
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1½ tsp. nutmeg for flavor
3 tsp. vanilla
Add enough flour to make a dough, at least 5 cups.

Split dough in half and put in freezer for 1 hr. Roll and bake at 400º until lightly cooked, don't let get too brown.
