2 c buttermilk
2 T shortening
1 cake yeast
1/2 t soda
2 T sugar
1 1/2 t salt
4-6 c flour

Directions:
Directions:
Scald the milk, and pour over the shortening. Cool, and add the remaining ingredients, only using half the flour. Mix for 3 minutes. Add the rest of the flour. Knead until smooth and elastic.

Divide into 3 pieces and roll each piece into a rectangle 1/2 inch thick. Brush with butter and cut each into 12 rolls. Place onto a parchment lined baking pan.

Let rise until doubled in size. Brush with glaze (see helpful tips page) and bake in a moderate over for 15-20 minutes.
