Pastry for 9 inch --2 crust pie (Pillsbury pie crusts in a box!!)

1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. white sugar
1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. peeled, sliced tart (tart works best) apples
2 c. Ocean Spray fresh or frozen cranberries- whole or chopped
2 tbsp butter or margarine

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400º.

In a large bowl, combine sugars, flour and cinnamon.
Add fruit (I liked leaving the cranberries whole)

Mix well. Turn into pastry-lined pie pan.
Dot with butter(cut into small chunks).

Cover with second crust and cut slits in top.
Seal edges.

Bake 40 minutes or until golden brown.

I liked using granny smith but any firm tart apple will do. The MacIntosh and the like get too mushy.

I also tended to overfill the pie crusts(I tended to cut up an extra apple or two). If you do the same and can still get top crust on, the odds are that some of the juice will leak out of the pie while it cooks. To avoid having to clean your oven, just set the pie on a baking sheet while it cooks to catch any overflow.
