2 eggs (or 4 eggs yolks)
1/3 C sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 Cup scalded milk
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat 350º
Beat eggs, salt, sugar slightly to mix. Stir in scalded milk . Add vanilla.
Pour into 1 1/2 quart baking dish and set in pan of hot water (1 inch deep)
Sprinkle a little nutmeg over the top.
Bake at 350º for 45-50 minutes. insert silver knife if is comes out clean Remove from oven.

This was my go to food when I was sick. My mom made it any time we were not feeling well.
I used to get migraine headaches when I was younger. When Grandpa Edward would come home if he opened the refrigerator and saw baked custard he knew I was in bed with a headache.
