2½ C. flour, sifted
1½ C. plus 1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. baking powder
1 C. lard
2 eggs, separated
milk
cornflakes
5 C. apples, sliced
butter

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, salt, baking powder, and lard.
2. Mix egg yolk in cup and fill with enough milk to make ⅔ cup. Add to flour mixture. Mix until dough shapes into ball. Roll half of dough to fit 11x15 cookie sheet. Cover bottom crust with crushed cornflakes.
3. Add apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust and pinch edge together. Beat egg whites until stiff and spread on top crust.
4. Bake at 400º for 40 minutes or until done.
5. While still warm, drizzle with 1 cup powdered sugar mixed with 2 tablespoons lemon juice.
