Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs (well beaten)
3 large bananas (crushed; very ripe ones work the best)
2 Tbsp applesauce
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
2 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the sugar and shortening together.
Add already beaten eggs and mix well.
Add crushed bananas and applesauce.
Sift together the dry ingredients and fold into the wet mixture.
Pour into a loaf pan - you can grease the bottom of the pan but do NOT grease the sides or it will form a 'ridge' at the top of the baked bread.
Bake at 325 for 1 hour.
