1 stick butter
8 oz. chopped dates
1 cup sugar
1½ - 2 cups rice krispies
1 cup nuts, chopped (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Put butter, dates, and sugar in pan. Cook 5 minutes over medium heat. Remove from heat. And nuts and krispies. Let cool. Shape into small balls. Roll in powdered sugar.
Steve Long likes them without being rolled in powdered sugar. Either way, they are divine!

Pam gave me this recipe years ago (c. 1980). She had made them and I remember loving them and she wrote out the recipe for me. This long forgotten recipe resurfaced the other day and they are every bit as delicious as I remember!
