2 oz pancetta or bacon diced
6 tbsp butter divided
2 cups onion diced
1.5 lbs green cabbage cored and cut bite-sized
6 oz dry egg noodles
2 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tsp paprika
2 tbsp soy sauce
1.5 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In large skillet on medium and add 2 tbsp butter.
cook pancetta or bacon until crisp.
Add onion and sauté 2 min.
Add 2 more tbsp butter, cabbage, salt, pepper, paprika, Italian seasoning and soy sauce.
Cover and cook about 10 or until cabbage is tender.

Meanwhile cook egg noodles according to package.

When cabbage is done, add the noodles and remaining butter and stir. Season more if desired.

Paprika is the special ingredient that is unique to Hungarian dishes. My special touch is the soy sauce. You can omit the bacon or pancetta and do ham instead or no meat at all. This recipe is easy to double or triple. It is always a favorite at potlucks.
