1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1/2 c. Baking Cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup( 1 stick) butter, sftened
1 c. granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 c. chopped pecans, optional
1/4 c. Semi Sweet Chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9 x 5 loaf pan.

Combine flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder and baking soda in medium bowl. Beat butter and sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, on at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture alternately with buttermilk. Fold in half of the pecans. Pour into prepared loaf pan.

Bake for 20 minutes. Top with chocolate chips and remaining pecans, continue baking for 30 to 35t minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan and wire rack for 10 minutes, removed to wire rack to cool completely Serve with Honey butter
