1 c warm water
1 pkg yeast
2 tbsp sugar
2¼ c flour
1 tsp salt
1 egg
2 tbsp soft shortening

Directions:
Directions:
In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Stir in sugar, half the flour & salt. Beat with a spoon until smooth. Add egg & shortening. Beat rest of flour until smooth. Scrape down sides of bowl & cover with a cloth. Let rise in a warm place (85º) until double (about 30 minutes.)

Grease 12 large muffin cups. Stir down raised dough. Spoon into muffin cups, filling ½ full. Again, let rise in a warm place until dough reaches tops of cups (20-30 minutes). Bake in preheated oven (400º) for 15-20 minutes.
