In a large bowl mix together:

1 lb raisins
1 stick margarine
2 cups boiling water
2 tsp baking soda

In another bowl, mix together:

4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Combine flour mixture and add to first bowl with raisins.
Mix well
Grease and flour 3 small coffee cans.
Fill cans 3/4 full each
Bake 1 hour.

Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes.
Tip and slide out.
