Directions:Mix warm water with sugar/honey
Add yeast and let stand for about 5 min, or until you see a foamy head
Pour into a mixer bowl and add one cup of flour.
With the mixer running on slow, begin to add flour until the consistency of the dough begins to become no longer sticky.
Remove dough and put on a floured surface. Knead, adding flour as needed, for a couple of minutes.
Put dough in a oiled bowl, cover with a dish towel, and place in a warm place for about an hour. Dough should rise to about double.
Put a pizza stone in the oven and preheat to 425º
Dump risen dough back onto your floured surface. Cut into 3 equal parts. Roll each part into a pizza crust.
I like to put some corn meal on the pizza stone (it keeps it from sticking.)
For a crispy crust, bake the dough on the pizza stone for 10 minutes. Take out and then dress the pizza with sauce, cheese, pepperoni, or you can get creative and put back in the oven on the stone.
There you go. Have fun. |

Notes: Pizza at our house went through a LOT of evolution over the years. Early on we would use a large pizza pan and make one huge, thick crust. We would load it with cheese and cooked sausage. It was awesome, but you pretty much had to eat it with a knife and fork.
We now like, thin, crispy crusts using the pizza stone.
Try it different ways to see what you like the most.
