1-4 to 5 pound roasting chicken
1 12oz can of beer
3 Tab dry rub divided
vegetable oil

Rub

1 tea salt
1 tea ground black pepper
1-1/2 tea garlic powder
1-1/2 tea onion powder
1-1/2 tea dry mustard
1-1/4 tea paprika
1 tea dried sage leaves, crumbled
1/4-1/2 tea ground red pepper (cayenne)

Rinse chicken inside and out; pat dry with paper towels.
Coat chicken lightly with oil and season with 2 Tab dry rub.
Set aside

Open beer can, pour out 1/4 cup of the beer and make an extra hole in the top
of the can. with a church key can opener.

Sprinkle the remaining 2 Tablespoon of dry rub inside the beer can. Place beer
can in the center of cooking grate and sit chicken on top of the beer can. the
chicken will appear to be sitting on the grate.

Cook chicken for 1 to 1-1/2 hours on until the internal temperature registers
165 deg. in the breast aeea.
