5 large vidalia onions
1 stick butter
1 bag shredded parmesan cheese
Crisp buttery crackers (i.e. Ritz)

Directions:
Peel and slice onions into thin rings. Saute in butter until limp or opaque. Pour half of onions into 1 1/2 quart casserole dish; cover with parmesan cheese, then crushed crackers. Repeat layers and bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees until golden, about 30 minutes.
