3 C. all-purpose flour
3 teas. baking powder
1 C. sugar
1 C. (2 sticks) salted butter
1 egg
¾ teas. vanilla
½ teas. almond extract
powdered sugar icing to decorate

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Cream the sugar and butter. Add egg and extracts , and blend. Gradually add the flour and baking powder and beat until combined. scrape down sides and bottom. Knead the dough with your hands, and form a ball. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. Flour countertop to roll dough out on. Roll dough out to ¼ inch thick and cut into desired shapes. Place shapes on parchment lined cookie sheet. Place entire sheet in freezer for 5 minutes to keep shapes from spreading when baked. Remove and bake for 10 minutes, or until edges are just starting to turn golden. Repeat with remaining dough. Once cookies are cool, you can ice.
A simple cookie icing is 1 C. powdered sugar, 1 teas. of vanilla or almond extract, and 2 tbsp. of milk. (slowly add additional drops of milk until icing is perfect consistency.) To color, add one drop of food coloring.
