For the Syrup:
500g (18 oz) water
3 cinnamon sticks
800g 28oz sugar
50g (5 oz) honey
3 whole cloves
1 orange - cut in half

For the Cookies:
400g (14 oz) orange juice
400g (14 oz) canola oil
180g (6 oz) olive oil
1000g (35 oz) flour
200g (7 oz) fine semolina
1 cup chopped walnuts
50g (2 oz) confection sugar
1/2 tsp ground clove
2.5 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp baking soda

Syrup:
Boil everything but the honey. syrup needs to be made before the cookies cool completely. Add the honey after the syrup has boiled for a few minutes.
Syrup needs to be completely cooled.

Cookies:
Preheat Oven to
Place all ingredients except flour and semolina in big bowl.
mix flour and semolina in separate bowl.
Slowly combine both bowls softly

Form cookies evenly and place on cookie sheet. use fork to make two row design with tines. Bake 20 - 25 min.

Place hot cookies from pan into cooled syrup for about 15 seconds.
place on platter and drizzle honey syrup and walnuts on top.
