2 cups butter
14 oz almond paste
2 c sifted powdered sugar
1 tsp almond extract
4 room temp egg yolks, slightly beaten
5 cups sifted flour
1 c sliced almonds
12 oz bag Ghiradelli melting wafers



Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 350º. Grate the almond paste on a cheese grater. Cream together the grated almond paste, the butter, the almond extract and the powdered sugar until smooth.
Add the egg yolks gradually.
Slowly add in the flour. Dough will be very thick and firm.
Roll dough (or use a cookie press) into 1/2 inch thick ropes, about 3" long. Bake for 12 minutes on parchment paper until the bottoms are brown. Cool on wire racks.
When cool, dip one end in melted chocolate and sprinkle with crushed almonds.
