Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º

In mixer, cream butter and sugar well

Add sour cream and eggs and vanilla

In separate bowl, whisk the first 2 C flour with the baking powder and salt
Add to creamed mixture until just incorporated.

Stir in additional 3-4 C flour 1 cup at a time to make a soft dough but not too sticky.

Now you can roll dough on well-floured surface to 3/4" and cut shapes and ice with cream cheese frosting.
**You may want to just roll them in sugar and bake
**Or you can bake all at once on a sprayed cookie sheet and frost to make squares

Bake cookies 8 - 10 min. until edges just start to brown,

Personal Notes:
These are our favorite sugar cookie because they're light, not dense.
If the dough is not over-handled or too dry and stiff with too much flour, these are very tender.
