½ c. butter, softened
¾ sugar
1 large egg
1 c. flour
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
2 c. chopped, peeled, tart apples

Sauce:
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. whipping cream
½ c. butter

Directions:
Directions:
In a small bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Combine the flour, baking soda, nutmeg and cinnamon; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in apples. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

In a sauce pan, combine butter and brown sugar. Cook over med heat until butter is melted. Gradually add cream, bring to a boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Pour over cake while serving pieces.
