Strawberry Cream Torte Recipe

High school cooking class


1pkg white cake mix
1 cup water
cup sour cream
2 eggs

1 cups mashed strawberries
⅓ cup sugar More to taste as needed
cup corn starch
4 drops (or more) red food coloring

Cool Whip

Preheat oven 350
Grease and flour 2 9x13 pans
in a large bowl mix all ingredients until moist
Beat on high for 2 mins
Divide batter into the 2 cake pans
Bake for 18-20 mins or until golden brown
Cool on rack for 5-10 mins
Turn 1 cake out of pan and cool completely
In medium saucepan combine sugar and cornstarch, add strawberries
Cook over Medium heat until thick stirring constantly Boil for 1 minute
Stir in food coloring and extra sugar if needed
Pour filling over cake still in the pan. Place the other cake on top
Frost with Cool Whip
