2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
½ cup shortening
4 tbsp cocoa
l cup cold water
½ cup buttermilk
1 tsp soda
2 eggs

Topping:
1 stick oleo or butter
4 tbsp cocoa
5 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup nut (optional)
1 lbs box powdered sugar

.Cake:
Mix flour and sugar in large bowl. In saucepan put butter, shortening, cocoa and water. Bring to boil, pour over flour and sugar; mix well. Add buttermilk, soda and eggs. Mix well. Pour into a well greased cookie sheet 15 x 10½. Bake at 400º for 20 minutes. (I use 9 x 13 pan 25 minutes) or until done.

Topping:
Five minutes before cake is done, combine and boil butter, cocoa and millk. Remove from fire and add vanilla, nuts and powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and spread over cake while hot.
