Directions:1. Combine all ingredients for pork or turkey filling, mixing well. Let sit in the fridge for about 15-30 minutes to allow flavours to combine. 2. To wrap wontons: place about 1 – 2tsp of meat mixture in the center of a wonton wrapper. Begin to fold in half, using your finger lightly brush water on the inside edges of the wonton. Lightly press to seal edges together. Bring 2 corners (on the same side) of folded wonton together and pinch to seal, making a dumpling shape. Continue wrapping all of the wontons. 3. Prepare broth (below) before cooking wontons. Put all broth ingredients into a pot and bring to a light boil. Keep simmering and add in bok choy or broccoli a few minutes before serving to allow it to cook/steam. 4. To cook wontons: Bring a large pot of water to boil. Add wontons in (about 20 at a time) to boil, when wontons float (about 4-5 minutes) they are ready. Scoop out and drain wontons and ladle into a bowl of hot broth. 5. Add some green onions on top as a garnish. 6. Also serve with hot chili sauce for the wontons if you wish. TIP: Wontons can be frozen easily. Place on a cookie sheet (ensuring they don’t touch each other) and freeze uncovered. Once frozen, put into a Ziploc bag. To cook, follow the instructions above, but allow to boil for a few extra minutes since wontons are frozen. |

Notes: I love wontons for my birthday. In the morning, I open my presents with my family, and then we have breakfast. After breakfast, I play with my birthday presents. At the end of the day, we have the wontons for dinner. My Mom normally makes the wontons. Sometimes I help my Mom make the wontons. After we put the wontons in the oven, I impatiently wait for them to bake. After they have baked, we have dinner. My brother gets to have Lasagna while I have wontons. I celebrate my birthday. After dinner, we have Birthday cake. After dessert, I watch TV with my brother until it’s time for bed.
