1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup cup canned pumpkin (Not pumpkin pie filling)
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup melted butter or vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Topping
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup pecans
1 1/2 cups very hot water

Directions:
Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 350º
2) In a medium size bowl, stir flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and spice-set aside.
3) In a smaller bowl, stir pumpkin, milk, melted butter and vanilla together to combine.
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix to create a thick batter. Pour into an 8 inch casserole dish with high sides.
4) In a separate bowl, stir sugar, brown sugar and pecans together. Spread evenly over batter. Pour hot water over the entire thing (without stirring) and bake for 40 minutes or once the middle is set. (Place a baking sheet under in case it bubbles over).
5) Cool 5-10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
