Buttermilk Sheet Cake Recipe

3 cups sugar
3 cups flour
1 sticks butter
cup shortening
5 T + 1 tsp cocoa
1 cup water
cup buttermilk
3 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract

6 T milk
1 stick butter
3T cocoa
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 lb powdered sugar

Mix sugar, flour in a large mixing bowl. In a pan, bring butter, shortening, cocoa, and water to a rapid boil, stirring constantly.

Pour cocoa mixture over flour/sugar mixture and stir well. Add eggs (slightly beaten), buttermilk, baking soda, cinnamon, and vanilla. Mix well.

Grease/flour (or coat with cocoa) a 13x18 jelly roll pan (may also use cake release spray). Bake at 375 for 20 - 22 min. Let cool.

For icing:
Boil milk, butter, and cocoa. Take off heat and stir in chopped pecans, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Frost cooled caked quickly.
