Notes: *This is probably no surprise to many of you - but to me - it was an epiphany! I came to figure this out by accident. On one particularly trying day, I found myself in need of some chocolate. You know - one of THOSE days when everything is wrong. Anyway, not having a car and no chocolate candy in the house, I set out looking through the pantry for something I could throw together. I found my unsweetened HERSHEY'S cocoa that I use for certain recipes. On it was a recipe for Hot Cocoa. So, figuring I hadn't found anything else that would work, I set out to make it. I put the above ingredients in the pan, and stirring as directed, the mixture began to come together and thicken up. And as it warmed and thickened, the better it smelled. I just couldn't wait. I dipped my finger into the mixture. I needed chocolate NOW!! Haha anyway, it was exactly like HERSHEY'S syrup! Who needed a store for candy bars - I can make this at home! So, I made an even larger batch and kept it in my fridge for those "trying" moments. It works and tastes wonderful. I've used it for years.
