1 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
1 "scant" (just a little less than a) cup shortening
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp any flavoring
pinch of salt
3 cups flour
Optional nuts or raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg, flavoring and milk or sour cream. Add baking soda and baking powder to flour. Mix thoroughly. Roll out on floured board. Cut or drop cookies. Put nut in center of each. Sprinkle with sugar on top or cinnamon sugar is good.

Milk mixture can replace sour cream. To make milk mixture combine 1 cup milk add vinegar to milk to sour.

Bake at 400º
