2 cups shortening
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
12 oz. chocolate, white chocolate, or butterscotch chips
3 cups flour
2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
6 cups minute oats (1 small container)
2 cups chopped cashews (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, salt, and baking soda. Fold into the creamed mixture along with oats, nuts, chocolate chips, or raisins. Place on a greased cookie by teaspoon. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes or golden brown.
