Ingredients:
2 cups shortening
4 eggs
4 tbsp. hot water

1½ cup white sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

18 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Mix together shortening, eggs, and water until well combined. Mix in brown sugar. Mix in white sugar. Add baking soda, salt, and vanilla and mix until smooth. Add flour 1 cup at a time until fully mixed in. Stir in the chocolate chips. Scoop about 2 tbsp. of batter into a ball and place on a lined cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 11-13 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Because this recipe makes so many cookies, we have started making the balls and putting them close together on a separate cookie sheet and placing it in the freezer overnight. Once frozen completely, you can put them in a gallon-sized ziplock bag. Just take out of the freezer and put straight onto a cookie sheet. Maybe add 1 minute to the cooking time for the frozen dough.
