1 ½ c. flour
½ tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
¾ tsp. cinnamon
¾ c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. mashed bananas
½ c. nuts and or chocolate chips
1½ c. old fashioned oatmeal

Directions:

Cream shortening, sugar, egg and bananas. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Add nuts and or chocolate chips.

Bake at 375º for 12 minutes.

My mom always used Crisco shortening when she made these cookies. I use the liquid shortening, so I found that if I use just a touch less shortening it makes a better cookie.
