2 1/4 cups sugar
6 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 cups scalded whole milk
6 eggs
4 cups heavy cream
4 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, flour and salt in saucepan. Slowly stir in hot milk. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly until thickens. Mix small amount into beaten eggs. Add to hot mixture and cook 1 minute longer. Chill in refrigerator. Add cream and vanilla. Pour into ice cream maker and freeze.
