5 slices of white bread
4 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 to 2 teaspoons dry onion
2 to 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 can crabmeat

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Trim the crusts off the bread, and cut each piece of bread into 4 pieces. Put the pieces on a baking sheet or pan. Mix the rest of the ingredients with a fork until blended. Put a dollop on each piece of bread and spread lightly with the fork (do not mash down as mixture spreads out and melts into place). Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, until the cheese looks heated and the edges of the bread are starting to look toasted. Makes 20 appetizers. The recipe can be easily doubled.
