1 1/4 cups boiling water
1 cup quick oatmeal
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/3 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Put oatmeal in a mixing bowl. Pour boiling water over the oatmeal and let stand 20 minutes. Then add butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir all together well. Sift flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt. Once sifted mix flour mixture with the oatmeal mixture. Pour into a 9/13 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
Topping:
3 tbsp butter
1 cup coconut (shredded)
1 cup nuts (chopped)
2 egg yolks
4 tbsp evaporated milk
Combine all ingredients and spread over cake. Put bake into oven for 7 to 10 minutes.
