3 c. self rising flour
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 stick unsalted butter
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp allspice
1 & 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground clove
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Whisk together dry ingredients. Set aside for later.
2. In a separate bowl, combine butter, sugar, and molasses until it is curdled.
3. Add egg and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
4. Add in dry ingredients, 1/2 at a time until a dough forms.
5. Knead the dough and divide into halves.
6. Wrap the halves and refrigerate for one hour.
7. Roll out dough, cut into desired shape, and lay out on pans lined with parchment paper.
8. Bake at 350º for 15 minutes, until browned and crisp.

Cool and decorate as desired.
