1 whole pie crust
6 cups peeled and sliced Granny Smith apples
juice of 1 lemon
1/2 c sugar
4 T flour
1/4 t salt

Topping:
1/2 c flour
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c quick oats
1/4 t salt
1/2 c chopped pecans
1/2 jar or more of caramel ice cream topping

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl mix peeled apples, lemon juice, 1/2 c sugar 4 T flour and 1/4 t salt. Set aside. For crumb topping: Cut butter into flour with 2 forks or pastry cutter, add brown sugar, oats and 1/4 t salt. Place apples into prepared pie shell and top with crumb topping. Cover edges with foil and bake at 375 for 25 minutes. Remove foil from crust and bake for another 30 minutes. Chop pecans and place on pie when 5 minutes of cooking time is remaining. Remove pie from oven and if desired pour caramel topping over pie. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
You may want to place the pie on a cookie sheet while baking to catch any bubble overs.
