3 ½ lbs. bottom round or lean chuck cut into 1- 1 ½ in. cubes, trim fat
1 diced onion, large
2 tbsp. Beef Paste
½ cup of instant coffee, brewed
3 tbsp. flour
Salt and pepper
Oil
Sliced bell peppers (optional)

Set Slow Cooker on low for 8 hours, or High for 4-6 hours.
Dice onion, add to slow cooker. Add beef cubes to slow cooker and drizzle with oil of choice. Add salt and pepper sparingly. Add beef paste, instant coffee (brewed), and 1 cup of water to slow cooker. Let sit in slow cooker for time allotted (as determined above). Indications of shred signifies beef is done. When time is up, sprinkle flour in slowly and blend with liquid in slow cooker. Let sit for 10 mins to let flour taste cook off. If gravy is too thick or strong, add water. If not rich enough, add beef paste.Serve over rice or egg noodles. Adding sliced bell peppers to the slow cooker is optional.

This is a family favorite recipe that is even delicious the next day. Allie's father and grandma lovingly refer to this dish as "Alpo"... Looks are deceiving with this dish.
