1/2 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 cups scalded milk

Dash of salt
3 egg whites
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat 1/2 cup sugar into egg yolks, add 1/4 teaspoon salt and stir in milk slowly. Cook in double boiler until mixture coats spoon. Stir constantly. Cool.

Add dash of slat to egg whites and beat until stiff. Add remaining 1/4 cup sugar, beat well and add egg whites with vanilla. Mix thoroughly and chill 3 hours.
