1 pkg Dry Yeast
1/4 C Water
2 C Scalded Milk
2 Tbsp Sugar
2 Tbsp Salt
1 Tbsp Shortening
6 - 6 1/4 C Flour

Directions:
Directions:
Soften yeast in warm water (110º). Combine hot milk, sugar, salt, and shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in 2 C flour and beat well. Add yeast mixture. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Put on floured board and knead until smooth and satiny, about 8 - 10 minutes. Placed in greased bown, turn once, and cover. Let raise until double, about 1 1/2 hours. Punch down and let rise again, about 45 minutes. Divide in half and form into two loaves. Place in greased loaf pans and let rise until double, about 1 hour. Bake at 400º for 35 minute. After 15 minutes, if browning too fast, cover loaves with foil.
