1 apple and/or pear, unpeeled, thinly sliced
1 tbsp. GF/DF margarine
1 tbsp. maple syrup, honey or GF brown rice syrup
½ tsp. ground cinnamon

¼ tsp. ground allspice
Pinch ground nutmeg
Pinch ground cloves
Canola oil cooking spray
Pecans, chopped and toasted lightly (optional)

Directions:
Spray a nonstick or cast iron pan with cooking spray or lightly oil the pan with canola oil. Over medium heat, melt the DF margarine. Add fruit slices and sweetener, turning with a spatula every several seconds Sprinkle with spices. Cook about 5-7 minutes until the fruits are warmed and softened but not mushy; thickened sauce will form in the pan.

Serve in small bowls as dessert or use to top pancakes and waffles. Sprinkle each portion with 1 tbsp. toasted chopped pecans for an extra treat.
